"Help me get my phone!!"
So after a whole day of thinking what to search on eBay, I finally thought about a new cell phone? I've tried looking for one on eBay ages ago and decided I was due for another search. Of course, my search for an awesome phone resulted in zip-nothing. Tons of eBayer's have posted listings for an awesome over $300 phone for just $5!! Is this too good to be true?? Of course it is. What they are auctioning is a website address where you can get a phone for $40.
So after some searching, I can across this one listing for an address that is provided for free. So I checked it out. Turns out, it's for a company in the UK selling phone accessory software for $40. If you buy their product, you get put on a list for the phone of your choice. The phones are all top of the line, brand new, not available yet handsets. You have choices like the Motorola Razor, some cool flip camera phones, and also iPods!!
Regardless to say, there is a slight catch. Once you're on the list, you have to wait for other people before you to receive their phones. So, the more you get the word out (referal based is best), the faster you'll get your phone.
Sounds like a scam? Maybe, but what if it isn't?? How cool would it be to get a $400 phone for $40 just for waiting a few months for it?? I thought it's worth a try, and if it doesn't work, I'm only out $40. I've wasted more money on other stuff.
In exchange for my $40 (US funds), I received a CD of ringtunes and graphics for your phone. So I figured, it wasn't a total waste.
