My Anemic Self

Do I have anemia?!? Or am I just going into flu-ism?
Since yesterday, I've been feeling nothing but fatigue. I'm able to get up from bed no problem, but I'm so incredibly tired and I don't know what to think about it. Since everyone around me is getting the flu, maybe I am too.
But a co-worker mentioned to me that major fatigue is the number one symptom of anemia. Do I have a low count on red-blood cells? Tonight I shall stuff my stomach with vitamins and spinach (since I don't like red/pink meat...no jokes please) and take it from there!

Don't Hold A Grudge

After much discussion on the Japanese horror flick, The Grudge from the creators of Ringu (The Ring), I've decided that I am not brave enough to embrace this in the theaters. I can't even enter the site alone...so I did so at work. Half covering my eyes, I entered...but not before summoning a co-worker or two (actually three). The site is an interactive one, sort of like a game where you enter the house. I can't even talk about it. The original film was done in Japan called Ju-on (scheduled to be released on DVD with English subtitles on November 22nd), and the same director decided to do a re-make of it for Hollywood casting Sarah Michelle Gellar for lead role. As much as I love horror movies, wouldn't casting her in this movie just make it another "I Know What You Did Last Summer" flick? I give it a shot anyway. It's only fair. They just better not incorporate a love scene in this.

A la mode, please

At work today, we had a little friendly competition. Apple pie bake-off. I love little perks like these. I wish we could have a bake-off every Friday! Since I've never ever made a pie before, I thought it might be fun to join and start baking. I looked up some recipes and came across one that looked quite simple. It was a simple Granny Smith pie with a caramel syrup. Yum Yum!! Of course, I had to cheat. I know nothing about making pie crust from scratch, and the other 2 contestants are frequent bakers. So to save myself from the shame of losing, I went out and bought a Tenderflake pie crust. I did a trial one first, because, of course, you never go into a battle unprepared. I had little bumps along the way, but it turned out magnificient!! The final one I made for the contest was a little nerve racking. It just had to be perfect. The caramel sauce was a little thicker than usual, and I tried to be creative by using a pizza cutter to cut the thawed pie crust into a huge spiral. It wasn't as I expected. But with a little more work with weaving the spiral crust, it turned out like a professionally bought pie. I was quite pleased. During the tasting, I was so ecstatic. People were raving about how good it was. I thought I didn't stand a chance against pro bakers. At the end, it was my pie that won. "Best Pie", "Best Filling" and "Flakiest Crust"!! Okay, okay the last one wasn't quite fair, but who cares!! It was my first time. I didn't think making pies would turn out to be so fun!! If anyone cares to send me their fav. recipes, please!!!

Udder Uselessness

Today is just another boring, rainy day. Not exciting at all. The highlight of the day was when someone at work dropped their mug full of coffee. Splash!!!
We were all quick on our feet to help with clean up. All except one...the one that I shall name Udder Uselessness. UU just stood there...and watched...for 5 minutes until the floor was clean. Thanks for your help, UU.
